Call Cheryl Delehanty for all your Lake Tahoe Nevada real estate needs!
The Delehanty Differenceby Shannon Hartsoe Professional Profile She rides a Harley for fun, is an accomplished wine enthusiast and has a laugh that is undeniably infectious. She is not your typical real estate agent and that suits her just fine. Cheryl Delehanty's clients have come to know and appreciate what she calls "The Delehanty Difference." Simply put, the Delehanty difference means that no matter what she is doing, Cheryl is energetic, passionate and enthusiastic. "I learned a long time ago that in order to succeed in customer service, you must be all things to all people and that no two real estate transactions are exactly alike," she says. That flexibility and attention to detail first earned her accolades in the hospitality industry where she was a sommelier for such exclusive resorts as the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite, Calif. and the Marriott Desert Springs Spa Resort in Palm Desert, Calif. "Those days particularly provided me with the basis for my philosophy of customer service. I was trained to give the best service possible and that is what I do." Additionally, Cheryl thanks her parents for instilling a very strong work ethic throughout her childhood in Upstate New York. In fact, it was while working in this profession that she first caught the attention of Coldwell Banker Incline Village Realty's owners Tom Clydesdale and George (Rod) Campbell. Daily, as they lingered over long business lunches at their usual table, one day she asked them what it took to get into the real estate industry? Ironically, the two had been discussing how dynamic and enthusiastic Cheryl was and offered to sponsor her through real estate school and hold a place for her on their team. The rest, as they say, is history. She counts herself fortunate to have worked alongside such luminaries in the real estate industry as Campbell, Clydesdale, CEO, and Gordon Miles, managing broker/partner. And what she has learned from them, she is more than happy to pass on to others, both in the form of inter-office mentoring and her active participation in organized real estate. "This is a professional industry and it is imperative that new agents learn to plug back into their community and to their local associations. Continuing education is the key to success in this career." Cheryl is continually growing and reaching new heights in her professional life, a direct result of her commitment to her clients and to her indomitable spirit. She stays abreast of the changes, embraces technology and is available to her clients long after escrow closes. "They know that they can call me for anything and I will be there for them," she says. "Some of them will call me before they will reach for a phone book. The Lake Tahoe market is unique to almost any other market, in that we have a high percentage of people who are here only a few months out of the year, so they need someone they can trust and count on." That would be Cheryl. Cheryl also realizes that without balance between personal and professional life, success would quickly grow tiresome. So, Cheryl is grateful for the constant support of her long-time companion, Gary Coblens. "He is my sounding board and my best friend," she says. True to her nature, the two met in an unconventional way- on a blind date seven years ago compliments of mutual friends. "We clicked immediately and we have been there for each other ever since. Gary is a CA and NV real estate broker/developer and CPA, so he really understands what it is that I do on a daily basis." With honesty, communication and flexibility, Cheryl Delehanty has earned that loyalty of customers from around the corner and around the world, and one thing that they all have in common, is that they have experienced the Delehanty difference. "The fact that my sincerity and honesty shines through truly helps to keep my clients loyal and willing to refer others to me, and that is what really makes the difference." Cheryl A.
